Scoring four times in each half, the Chapel Hill Tigers rolled to an 8-0 shutout victory over the Person Rockets in girls’ Piedmont Athletic Conference soccer action Monday evening at Rocket Stadium.

The defeat dropped Person to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in the conference. The Rockets are scheduled to face East Chapel Hill today at home (6 p.m.).

Molly Spencer led the way for the Tigers with two goals, while six other CH players had solo tallies.

Person had played well on the defensive side of the ball in its previous three games, allowing just two goals in that span, but couldn’t keep the Tigers at bay on Monday

On offense, the Rockets have struggled, mustering just one goal through their first five contests of 2008.

After today’s game with ECH, the Rockets have a non-conference match up with the Roxboro Community School Bulldogs Thursday evening at Rocket Stadium at 6:00.
