Special Trade Area Same-Day

Non daily newspapers mail about one half of
paid subscriptions. Therefore, timely delivery to mail subscribers
becomes critical to advertisers. For this reason, we have
developed a special "trade area" delivery system.
The trade area includes all of Person County and also fringe
area post office delivery areas where potential Roxboro shoppers
reside. There are five such areas, other than Roxboro (27573),
that justify special delivery handling. Two post offices are
in Person County (Timberlake and Hurdle Mills), and three
are very close to the county line and include postal delivery
routes inside Person County where subscribes live that shop
in this country.
Our newspaper goes to press after midnight on Wednesday and
Saturday mornings. All subscribers on all "trade area"
mail routes receive their newspapers the same day they are
printed: Wednesday and Saturday. We deliver our newspapers
directly to these six post offices during early a.m. hours
so that when postal route deliverymen come to work, the papers
are waiting for them to execute same-day delivery.
Newspapers are also dropped off in these more remote areas
for sale across the counter, giving our advertisers even more
potential coverage.
Zoning to this "Trade Area" available to advertisers
placing inserts at $4.00 per $1,000 extra.
