Roxboro man faces weapon, drug charges
- 1/3/08

Roxboro police arrested Raynard Keith Blackwell, 47, of 1984 Flat River Church Rd. Thursday on felony charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of crack cocaine. Blackwell was also charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to appear in Person County District Court on an earlier charge.

Police were attempting to serve the misdemeanor warrant on Blackwell for failing to appear in court when the other charges were lodged against him. He was reportedly found to be in possession of a firearm and a small amount of crack cocaine when he was taken into custody at the Timberland Motel at 720 N. Madison Blvd.

Blackwell was jailed under an $8,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 21.

Doc Jeffrey Holloway, 32, of 730 Old Durham Rd. was arrested by Roxboro police Tuesday on a felony charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and misdemeanor charges of carrying a concealed weapon and discharging a firearm within the city limits.

Holloway was taken into custody on Kerr Drive shortly after police received a report of gunshots being fired on Sunset Drive.

Holloway, who was reportedly found to be in possession of a firearm at the time of his arrest, was held in custody under a $2,500 secured bond. He is slated to appear in district court on Feb. 26.
