Deputies with the Person County Sheriff’s Department arrested two persons Sunday in connection with the alleged break-in of a vehicle at The Dugout at 3161 Leasburg Rd.

Gary Dwayne Gouchie, 24, of 1023 N. Main St., Lot 6 and Matthew Gerald Phillips, 23, of 413 N. Main St., Apt. A were each charged with felony counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle and larceny as well as a misdemeanor charge of injury to personal property after they were taken into custody at 94 Thomas Rd.

Gouchie and Phillips were each held under secured bonds of $2,500. The two are scheduled to appear in district court on March 13.

Kevin Centelle Hamlett, 23, of 858 Lee Chambers Rd. was arrested by sheriff’s deputies Monday following a traffic stop at the intersection of Halifax Road and Gravitte Road.

Hamlett, who was allegedly found to be in possession of 2.9 grams of marijuana, was charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana and driving while license revoked.

Hamlett was held under a $2,000 secured bond. He is slated to appear in district court on March 20.
