Roxboro police arrested two persons this week on felony
charges of breaking and entering, larceny and conspiracy.
Van Tyrell Burton Jr., 20, of 229 Whitt Town Rd. was taken
into custody Thursday on Oak Street and Dexter Jacoby Poteat,
19, of 251 Blackhollow Rd. in Timberlake was arrested Wednesday
at 109 S. Lamar St.
Burton was jailed under a $30,000 secured bond on the charges,
while Poteat was held under an $8,000 secured bond. The two
are scheduled to appear in Person County District Court on
March 25.
Justin Lee Humphries, 21, of 719 Lewis Winstead Loop Rd.
was arrested early Wednesday morning by Roxboro police on
a felony charge of possession of cocaine and a misdemeanor
charge of driving while impaired.
Humphries was reportedly found to be in possession of a small
amount of powder cocaine when he was stopped at a license
checkpoint at the intersection of Long Avenue and Morgan Street.
Humphries was held under a $5,000 secured bond. He is scheduled
to appear in district court on April 24.
Roxboro police served outstanding warrants for a felony count
of habitual driving while impaired and misdemeanor charges
of driving while license revoked and giving fictitious information
to a police officer Thursday on Timothy Moore, 42, of 310
Barnette Ave.
Moore was held under a $3,000 secured bond. He is slated
to appear in district court on April 3.
