Man accused of using homemade pipe bomb faces felony charges - 4/1108
 

Deputies with the Person County Sheriff’s Department arrested David Scott High, 42, of 141 Meadowview Lane Thursday on felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and possession of a weapon of mass destruction.
High is alleged to have a lit a homemade pipe bomb and threw it at a man in a Stanley Oakley Road residence in Timberlake on Wednesday. The victim reportedly suffered a small laceration to his side.

High was jailed under a $400,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in Person County District Court on April 22.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Kimberly Wilkerson Bowes, 37, of 326 Charles St. Wednesday on a host of fraud-related charges after receiving arrest warrants from the City of Durham.

Bowes was charged with nine felony counts each of identity theft and obtaining property by false pretense as well as nine misdemeanor counts of larceny.

The incidents that led to Bowes’ arrest reportedly took place between Feb. 20 and Feb. 25 in Durham.

Bowes was jailed under a $50,000 secured bond. She is scheduled to appear in Durham County District Court on April 21.
