Seven implicated in recent rash
of break-ins

Person County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested seven persons this week implicated in a rash of recent break-ins locally.
All seven are scheduled to appear in Person County District Court on July 15.

Four of the seven persons implicated were arrested Friday in connection with break-ins that reportedly took place on June 25.

All four were charged that day with two felony counts each of breaking and entering, larceny and conspiracy.

The four were Corey M. Wagstaff, 23, of 1422 Stone Dr., Alexander Christopher Byrd, 22, of 402 School St., Edgar Dwayne Yancey, 25, of 119 Nichols Ave. and Leroy Nathaniel Yellock, 18, of 202 Shale Circle.

They were all jailed under secured bonds of $50,000 are each is scheduled to appear in Person County District Court on July 15.

On Monday, Wagstaff, Byrd, Yancey and Yellock were all levied with additional charges.

Wagstaff was charged Monday with three felony counts of conspiracy, two felony counts each of breaking and entering and larceny and one felony count of attempted breaking and entering. On those charges, he received an additional secured bond of $40,000.

Byrd, who received an additional $60,000 secured bond, was charged Monday with four felony counts of conspiracy, three felony counts of breaking and entering, two felony counts of larceny and one felony count each of attempted larceny, attempted breaking and entering, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and safecracking.

Yellock was charged Monday with two felony counts each of breaking and entering and conspiracy and well as one felony count each of larceny, attempted larceny and safecracking and placed under an additional secured bond of $35,000.

Yancey, who received an additional secured bond of $15,000, was charged Monday with felony counts of breaking and entering, larceny and conspiracy.

Also Monday, sheriff’s deputies arrested three others implicated in the recent break-ins. They included Carlton O’Neal Bailey, 27, of 1243 Dick Holeman Rd. in Timberlake, Anthony Lamont Brandon, 18, of Milton and Gordon Shawn Lee, 19 of 119 Kerr Dr.

Bailey was charged with two felony counts each of safecracking, attempted breaking and entering and conspiracy and one felony count of attempted larceny. He was jailed under a $70,000 secured bond.

Brandon, who was released under a $25,000 unsecured bond, was charged with two felony counts of conspiracy and one felony count each of breaking and entering, larceny and attempted breaking and entering.

Lee, who was held under a $15,000 secured bond, was charged with one felony count each of breaking and entering, larceny and conspiracy.
