Three teens, including one juvenile, were arrested on armed robbery charges Monday night by deputies with the Person County Sheriff’s Department.
The three, all residents of Providence Road, reportedly assaulted a pizza delivery person with a baseball bat and stole three pizzas, valued at $36.22
Keith Brann Dew, 16, and Anthony Douglas Dew, 18, both of 812 Providence Rd., were each charged with a felony count of armed robbery. A 15-year-old juvenile was also charged in connection with the incident.
According to a sheriff’s department incident report, the incident occurred at 711 Providence Rd. There, the pizza delivery person was reportedly approached by two suspects. A third suspect reportedly approached the delivery person from the rear and struck him with a baseball bat before the pizzas were stolen.
Keith Dew was jailed under a $15,000 secured bond and Anthony Dew was held under a $10,000 secured bond. The two are scheduled to appear in Person County District Court on Aug. 5.
Gary Thomas Owen, 39, of South Boston, Va. was arrested by Roxboro police Monday on two felony charges each of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and obtaining property by false pretense.
Owen, who was taken into custody at Community Pharmacy at 719 N. Main St., had reportedly attempted to obtain Oxycodone with a fraudulent prescription. He also allegedly was successful in getting the prescription filled on July 2.
Owen was held under a $15,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Aug. 5.
