Pair charged in recent break-ins - 7/11/08
 

Deputies with the Person County Sheriff’s Department arrested two persons Thursday in connection with break-ins that took place last month.

Gordon Shawn Lee, 19, of 119 Kerr Dr. and Dontavious Jarrod Bowman, 18, of 96 Shady Hill Circle were each charged with felony counts of breaking and entering, larceny and conspiracy.

Warrants for Lee’s arrest were issued Tuesday. The incident that led to his arrest reportedly took place on June 25. Warrants for Bowman’s arrest were issued on July 3. The incident that led to his arrest reportedly took place on June 20.

Lee was released under a $10,000 unsecured bond and is scheduled to appear in Person County District Court on July 15. Bond information on Bowman was not listed on his arrest report. He is slated to appear in district court on July 29.

 

A Roxboro teen initially jailed Wednesday under a $2,500 secured bond for a misdemeanor simple assault charges now faces stiffer allegations.

Torry Leron Poteat-McCain, 19, of 126 Yarborough St. was found to be in possession of a handgun, which was reportedly found by a detention officer in a boot he was wearing shortly after his arrest on the misdemeanor charge.

Poteat-McCain was then charged with a felony count of possession of a deadly weapon in a correctional facility and a misdemeanor charge of carrying a concealed handgun.

On those charges, Poteat-McCain was held under a $10,000 secured bond. He is slated to appear in district court on Aug. 7.
