Roxboro police arrested two persons Wednesday in connection
with an alleged robbery of an elderly Yarborough Street resident.
Shari Faber Ross, 30, of 305 Dan Winstead Rd. and Betty Lou
Holt, 36, of 465 Melton Rd. each face charges in connection
with the alleged robbery that took place Tuesday morning.
Ross was charged with a felony count of armed robbery and
a misdemeanor charge of aggravated assault, while Holt was
charged with a felony count of conspiracy to commit armed
robbery.
Ross was jailed under a $3,000 secured bond, while Holt was
held under a $1,000 secured bond. The two are scheduled to
appear in Person County District Court on Nov. 20.
Ross is alleged to have entered the home and struck the victim
with an object before stealing cash totaling $180, a firearm
valued at $100 and a wallet.
Roxboro police arrested two persons Tuesday evening following
a high-speed chase that ended on the Durham Road.
Police reportedly attempted to stop a 1999 Toyota Celica
for having an inoperable headlight prior to the chase ensuing.
Police later learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen
in Durham. With the aid of the North Carolina Highway Patrol
and stop sticks that were placed in the roadway, police managed
to get the vehicle stopped.
The driver of the car, Daryl Roderick Page Jr., 21, of Norcross,
Ga., was charged with felony counts of possession of a stolen
vehicle and fleeing to elude arrest as well as misdemeanor
charges of speeding, careless and reckless driving and a headlight
violation. He was jailed under a $10,000 secured bond.
A passenger in the vehicle, Skyler Morgan Page, 17, of Durham,
was charged with a felony count of possession of a stolen
vehicle and released to the custody of her mother. The two
are scheduled to appear in district court on Dec. 20.
