Deputies with the Person County Sheriffs Department
arrested Terry Lerenzo Yellock, 21, of 2735 Lucy Garrett Rd.
in Timberlake Friday on a host of drug-related charges following
a vehicle stop on Timberlake Drive.
During a search of the 1994 Acura driven by Yellock, deputies
reportedly discovered 8.28 ounces of crack cocaine, which was
wrapped in plastic, under the drivers seat.
Yellock was charged with felony counts of trafficking crack
cocaine by transport, trafficking crack cocaine by possession,
possession with intent to sell and deliver crack cocaine and
maintaining a vehicle for the sale and delivery of crack cocaine.
Yellock was also charged with a misdemeanor count of possession
of drug paraphernalia.
Yellock was held under an $80,000 secured bond. He is scheduled
to appear in Person County District Court on Dec. 4.
While conducting a license checkpoint Friday at the intersection
of Crestwood Drive and Gordon Street, Roxboro police made
a drug-related arrest.
Joe Joseph Lawson Jr., 18, of 65 Jessie Banks Rd. was charged
with a felony count of possession with intent to sell and
deliver marijuana and a misdemeanor charge of possession of
drug paraphernalia.
Police reportedly detected an odor of marijuana coming from
Lawsons vehicle when he stopped at the checkpoint. During
a subsequent search of Lawson and the vehicle, police reportedly
discovered 27 grams of marijuana in Lawsons coat pocket.
Lawson was held under a $2,000 secured bond. He is slated
to appear in district court on Jan. 10.
