Deputies with the Person County Sheriff’s Department arrested Henry Cothran Holding, 52, of 23 Cothran Hicks Rd. in Rougemont Tuesday on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Holding was jailed under a $100,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in Person County District Court on Feb. 5.

Michelle Dawn McCartney, 38, of 428 Crystal Springs Dr. in Timberlake was arrested Sunday on several drug-related charges following a traffic stop at the intersection of Ned Moore Road and Dick Holeman Road in Timberlake.

McCartney, who was allegedly found to be in possession of methadone and a small amount of marijuana, was charged with felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle for the sale and delivery of a controlled substance and possession with intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance. McCartney was also charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license revoked.

McCartney was held under a $9,999 secured bond. She is scheduled to appear in district court on Jan. 29.
