Otis E. Alexander
The funeral for Otis Edward (Nick) Alexander, 55, of Roxboro, who
died Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Duke University Medical Center,
will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 17, in the Loving Funeral
Home chapel by the Rev. Billy Price, the Rev. John Burnham, Lucas
Alexander and Robert Cooper. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Alexander was born April 16, 1952, in Clifton Forge, Va., the
son of the late Edward Simmons and Dove Otis Alexander.
He was a former employee of Hercules Inc, where he was active as
a shop steward with the union.
He was a life insurance agent with Equitable Insurance and worked
most of his life as a successful salesperson.
He enjoyed NASCAR racing and playing tennis.
Surviving are two sons, Ryan Alexander of Williamsburg, Va. and
Lucas Alexander of Richmond, Va.; and a sister, Kathryn K. Hayden
of Clifton Forge.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral
home.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions
towards Mr. Alexanders funeral in c/o Loving Funeral Home,
350 N. Maple Avenue, Covington, Va. 24426.
Stephanie P. Anderson
The funeral for Stephanie Powell Anderson, 39, who died Thursday,
April 10, 2008 in Raleigh, was conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April
14, in Blue Wing Baptist Church in Granville County by the Rev.
Dorwin Howard. Burial was in the Blue Wing Memorial Gardens.
Ms. Anderson was the daughter of Drucilla R. Powell of Roxboro,
who survives.
She was a member of Blue Wing Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Leondre Anderson
of Oxford; a daughter Chenise Anderson of Raleigh; two sons, Jared
Leon Anderson of Raleigh and Jerrel Lamar Powell of Roxboro; two
sisters, Regina Ragland of Roxboro and LaShonda R. Powell of Raleigh;
three brothers, Richard C. Powell and Joseph Powell Jr., both of
Roxboro and Orlando M. Powell of Durham; her maternal grandfather,
Charlie (Buck) Royster of Roxboro; and a special friend, Fred Russell
Hewitt of Raleigh.
