Creola G. Bowling
BAHAMA The funeral for Creola Garrett Bowling, 85, formerly
of 8420 Ball Rd., Bahama, who died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007 at Treyburn
Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, will be conducted at 11 a.m.
today, Dec. 5, in Bethany Baptist Church by the Rev. Matt Rummage
and the Rev. Billy Lynch. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Born in Granville County, Mrs. Bowling was the daughter of the
late James Maynard and Florrie Simpson Garrett. Her late husband
was Lewis Bowling, and her late son was James Charlie Bowling. Her
late brothers were Earl Garrett and John Garrett.
She was a retired farmer and caregiver for many families.
She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Surviving are a brother, Elton Garrett of Rougemont; a sister,
Julean Mangum of Bahama; two grandchildren, Karen Bowling and Robert
Bowling; and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Terry, Lester (Pete) Bowling, Lewis Elexson,
Terry Meece, Don Garrett, Maynard Garrett, Earl Walters and Tommy
Oakley.
Memorials may be made to the Bethany Baptist Church, 44 Berea Rd.,
Rougemont, NC 27572.

Morris Charnekar
PORTLAND, Ore. Morris Charnekar, 92, of Portland, Ore. and
Hammond, Ind., died Friday, Nov. 23 in Portland. No service is planned.
Mr. Charnekars late wife was Minnie Charnekar.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II.
He enjoyed music, dancing and bowling.
Surviving are three daughters, Anita Charnekar. and husband, Paul
Ehresmann, of Roxboro, Karla Benson and husband, Barry, of Portland
and Barbara Reinhardt, of Downingtown, Pa.; a son, Marc Charnekar
of St. Paul, Minn.; and two granddaughters, Jennifer Reinhardt and
Molly Benson.
Lula R. Evans
YANCEYVILLE The funeral for Lula Ruth Evans, 72, of Yanceyville,
who died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007 at Danville Regional Hospital, was
conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, in Grace Independent Baptist
Church in Cedar Grove by Pastor Charles Hamilton. Burial will be
held at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 5, at Mill Creek Baptist Church.
Ms. Evans was a native of Person County, the daughter of the late
Dave Robert and Jennie Maude Wrenn Evans. Her late sister was Mary
Evans Thaxton.
Surviving are three brothers, David Thomas Evans and Lamberth Beam
Evans, both of Roxboro and James Irvin Evans of Prospect Hill; and
a sister, Nancy Culley of Roxboro.
Doris H. Fogleman
The funeral for Doris Hicks Fogleman, 84, of 717 Glenn Fogleman
Rd., Rougemont, who died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007 at Person Memorial
Hospital, was conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, in the Brooks
& White Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Keith Williams. Burial
was in the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Fogleman was a native of Granville County, the daughter of
the late Frank L. and Dulcie Satterwhite Hicks. Her late husband
was Chester Arthur Fogleman. Her late brothers were Lloyd Hicks
and Jack Arrington, and her late sisters were Maude Cates and Lois
Woodlief.
She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Chester Lue Groves of Raleigh and
Dulcie Dawn Phillips both of Roxboro; a son, Arthur Leon Fogleman
of Rougemont; two brothers, Clyde Hicks of Oxford and Victor Hicks
of Petersburg, Va.; a sister, Betsy Garrett of Rougemont; seven
grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were nephews, Larry Hicks, Roger Hicks, Flynn Garrett,
Bill Garrett, Dale Cates and Ronald Cates.

Linsay Erin Lunsford
Maggie Rose Lunsford
CREEDMOOR Linsay Erin Lunsford, age 18, and Maggie Rose
Lunsford, age 9, died Saturday in an automobile accident. Both are
natives of Granville County and were the daughters of Mary Ann Walters
Lunsford, of Creedmoor and Clinton Wayne Lunsford, of Stem.
Lindsay was a member of Stem United Methodist Church and was a
freshman at UNC-Greensboro. She graduated from South Granville High
School in 2007. Linsay was a former member of FBLA, DECA, Future
Teachers of America (FTA), high school tennis, rec-league softball,
National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, and college
intramural sports. Linsay was an eight-year student of merit, received
numerous scholarships for college, Morehead nominee, Teaching Fellows
nominee, volunteering for SPCA, volunteering for ESL program and
was a member of the Residence Hall Association (RHA).
Maggie was a member of Stem United Methodist Church and was a fourth
grade student at Mt. Energy Elementary School. Maggie read everything,
and loved all animals, especially cats. She was an "A"
honor roll student, played rec-league soccer, was a white-belt yellow-stripe
in karate, a competitor and award-winner in karate tournaments.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, December 5,
2007, at Mt. Energy Elementary School in Creedmoor, N.C., by the
Rev. Jason Thornton. A private burial will be held Thursday, at
South Granville Memorial Park.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are one brother, Josh Lunsford,
of Raleigh, N.C.; four sisters, Elizabeth Lunsford Lee and husband,
David, of Graham, N.C., Nikki Lunsford, of Oxford, Caitlyn Lunsford,
of Creedmoor and Angeles Kipp; maternal grandmother, Mildred Walters,
of Rougemont, N.C.; nieces, Brianna Lee and Mari Kipp; and nephew,
Artie Kipp.
The family will receive friends Tuesday night, December 4, 2007,
from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Gentry-Newell & Vaughan Funeral Home
in Oxford. At other times they will be at the home on 2102 W.B.
Clark Road, Creedmoor.
Flowers are accepted, or memorials may be made to the Lunsford
Family, c/o Stem United Methodist church, P.O. Box 10, Stem, N.C.

Donald H. Parker
The funeral for Donald Hughes Parker, 71, formerly of Hurdle Mills,
who died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007 at Person Memorial Hospital, was
conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, in the Brooks & White Funeral
Home chapel by the Rev. Jon Glass and the Rev. Dennis McDonald.
Burial was in the Person Memorial Cemetery.
Born in Person County, Mr. Parker was the son of the late Floyd
and Annie Lou Norris Parker.
He was a retired farmer and owner of Donald Parker Trucking.
Surviving are his wife, Grace Zimmerman Parker; three daughters,
Marsha P. Osborne and husband, Rich, Donna P. Henderson and husband,
Terry, and Norma Renee Parker, all of Roxboro; three brothers Bernice
Parker of Hillsborough, Howard Parker and Norman Parker, both of
Hurdle Mills; five grandchildren, Sharee Clayton Reynoso, Laurie
Clayton Lawson, T. Justin Henderson, Daniel T. Henderson and Jessica
N. Grinstead; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Justin Henderson, Daniel Henderson, Jason Parker,
Ken Cecil, Stacey Compton, Ronald Norris, Ronnie Maloney and Wayne
Webster.
