Nellie O. Clayton
The funeral for Nellie Oakley Clayton, 92, formerly of City Lake
Road, who died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007 at Person Memorial Hospital,
was conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, in the Brooks & White
Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Herbert Brown. Burial was in the
Person Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Clayton was a native of Person County, the daughter of the
late Alvis and Aldine Clayton Oakley.
She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Surviving are her siblings, Harold Oakley, Ava Clayton, Pauline
Clayton and Louise Oakley, all of Roxboro.
Pallbearers were Gerald Clayton, Donny Clayton, Mike Clayton, Sherwood
Coley, Bill Anderson and Larry Daniel.
Memorials may be made to the Person Memorial Hospital Extended
Care Unit, 615 Ridge Rd., Roxboro, NC 27573.
Mary P. Gravitte
The funeral for Mary Parker (Stumpy) Gravitte, 73, of 1010 Helena-Moriah
Rd., Timberlake, who died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007 at her home, will
be conducted at 3:30 p.m. today, Dec. 22, in Antioch Baptist Church
by the Rev. David Chambers. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Gravitte was a native of Orange County, the daughter of the
late Iley Herbert and Ethel Wilson Parker. Her late husband was
Brigham Leslie Gravitte and her late son was Sidney Gravitte.
She was retired from Eaton Corp. and was a member of Antioch Baptist
Church.
Surviving are a sister, Geraldine Lunsford of Hillsborough; two
grandchildren, Jonica Potts and Britany Gravitte, both of Timberlake,
and a great-grandchild, Jaylee Potts.
Visitation will be at the church for one hour before the service.
Pallbearers will be Brann Humphries, Charles Timberlake, Ronald
Epps, Dillon Lunsford, Craig Lunsford and Gary Gravitte
Andy Snow and Les Morrell will be honorary pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the Home Health and Hospice of Person
County, 355A S. Madison Blvd., Roxboro, NC 27573.

Alice F. Klinker
The funeral for Alice Florence Klinker, 97, of Roxboro, who died
Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, was conducted in the Reyers Funeral Home
in Grand Rapids, Mich., by the Rev. Thomas Rohrer. Burial was in
the Rosedale Memorial Gardens in Grand Rapids.
Mrs. Klinders late son was Philip Klinker.
She was a homemaker and dedicated herself to her family and children.
She was a Baptist but attended Long Memorial United Methodist Church
after moving to North Carolina.
Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Lester Jerome Klinker; a
daughter Sheryl MacIntosh and husband, Kerry; three grandchildren,
David Klinker, Kelly MacIntosh and Kevin MacIntosh; a daughter-in-law,
Charlene Klinker; and six great-grandchildren.

Adell C. Oakley
The funeral for Adell Clayton Oakley, 88, of 380 Alva Oakley Rd.,
who died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007 in the Durham Regional Hospital
in Durham, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, in the Brooks
& White Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in the Carver Family
Cemetery.
Born in Person County, Mrs. Oakley was the daughter of the late
Early and Loni Wrenn Clayton.
She attended Stories Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are five daughters; Nancy Morris, Brenda Lee, of Roxboro,
Jane Snoddy of Virgilina, Va., Darlene Fitch of Oak Island and Wanda
Whitfield of Roxboro; five sons, Randall W. Oakley, A.C. Oakley,
J.R. Dwight Oakley, Kirk Oakley, Richard Ray Oakley, all of Roxboro;
one brother, Charles Buck Clayton, of Roxboro, seven sisters, Odie
Clayton, Teenie Oakley, Betty Jane Holt, Peggy Dixon, Linda Long,
Minnie Oakley, Alma Harris, all of Roxboro; 16 grandchildren, a
step-grandchild; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Lankford, David Lankford, Michael Lankford,
Jeremy Oakley, Randall Oakley, Daniel Oakley, Alan Lee and Brian
Fitch and Darryl Sanford. Honorary pallbearers will be James Lee,
and Ralph Oakley.
Memorial donations may be made to the Stories Creek Primitive Baptist
Church, c/o Reuben Bowes, 526 Leasburg Road, Roxboro, NC 27573.
Jasper Ramsey
The funeral for Jasper Ramsey, 64, of 3301 Virgilina Rd., who died
Friday, Dec. 21, 2007 in Duke Hospice in Hillsborough, will be conducted
at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 24, in Cedar Grove Baptist Church by the
Rev. Jesse Timberlake. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Ramsey was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Deborah Taborn Ramsey; a son, Jeffrey Lee
Cates of Roxboro; three sisters, Lessie R. Hughes of Virgilina,
Va., Lillian R. Williams of Durham and Lucinda R. Clay of Roxboro;
two brothers, David Ramsey of Roxboro and Donald Ramsey of Zebulon;
two step-daughters, Larissa Winstead of the home and Ericka Cunningham
Mayo of Louisburg; and a grandchild.
Visitation will be at the church Sunday, Dec. 23, from 7 p.m. until
8 p.m. The body will rest at the church for one hour before the
service.
Arrangements are by Cunningham and Nelson Funeral Directors.
Judith O. Street
COLUMBUS, Ohio The funeral for Judith O. Street of Ohio
will be conducted today, Dec. 22, at New St. James Baptist Church
in Timberlake by the Rev. Peter Baker. Burial will be in the church
cemetery.
Mrs. Street was a native of Elizabeth City.
Surviving are her husband, Linwood L. Street; a son, Cony Marcel
Mitchell of Atlanta, Ga.; three sisters, Brenda Freeman of Middletown,
N.Y., Shelly A. Redd of Columbus, Ohio and Gail Griffin of Elizabeth
City; and two grandchildren, Destiny Alexis Hunt and Cony Marcel
Hunt.
